Get to Know Soroptimists of York Region
Become a Member
Soroptimists are women who use their special expertise and management skills to advance the work of the group. Members have opportunities for leadership development and are mentored by experienced members. Members choose to work in one of our four planning groups that suit their talents and interest:
1. public awareness,
2. program,
3. membership or
4. fundraising.
We value the ideas and energy SI women bring to the table. Everyone embraces the projects generated in the spirit of making a difference.
Women who are active in business or professional careers, those embarking upon a career in a profession or business or those who have recently retired, are encouraged to join us and contribute to the work we do on behalf of women and girls in York Region and around the world. Together, we can make a difference! Belonging to Soroptimist offers the opportunity to work with like-minded women towards a common goal. There are also ongoing learning and leadership training opportunities. The annual membership fee helps support international projects and club operations.
We also hold an annual Spring Tea, which has been a major fundraiser for our projects. Remember to check out the information on this website about the SI Annual Awards. Perhaps there are women you know who would be worthy nominees. The easy-to-complete forms are online.
