There are nearly 100,000 Soroptimists in 125 countries and territories contribute time and financial support to community-based and international projects benefiting women and girls. The name Soroptimist means ‘best for women’ and that’s what the organization strives to achieve.

Soroptimist members are women who use their special expertise and management skills to advance the work of the group. Members have opportunities for leadership development and are mentored by experienced members. Members choose to work in one of our four planning groups that suit their talents and interest:

We welcome women in the community to come out to a meeting and join us in the work we do on behalf of women and girls in York Region and around the world.
Together, we can make a difference! Belonging to Soroptimist offers the opportunity to work with like-minded women towards a common goal. There are also ongoing learning and leadership training opportunities. The annual membership fee helps support international projects and club operations.

SI York Region holds a networking and business meeting in the evening on the 2nd Wednesday of every month from September to June. Join us at The Craft Kitchen at Hollandview Trail Retirement Community, 200 John West Way, Aurora, ON. Please remember to park in designated guest parking spots – # 45 and higher.
